Solitary tree on the high plains, along US-20 in northwestern Nebraska. This is looking westward, with the tree about six miles east of the town of Harrison in Sioux County.

UPDATE on 12 January 2012: After some remembering/research, I realized that the location of this tree when I first uploaded to Flickr (back in 2007) was incorrect. I had originally said that this was "only a couple of miles east of the Nebraska-Wyoming state line." Way off - this tree is nearly 20 miles further east.
